IRS-compliant Written Information Security Plans. Built for real accounting firms, not copy-pasted from a template.
24/7 monitoring and a pre-season IT health check. Downtime in January through April is not an option.
Based in Salisbury, MD. When something serious happens, we can be on-site the same day. Not a call center.
But your clients trust you with their most sensitive financial data. Your reputation depends on that data staying secure. And the IRS requires you to have a formal plan to protect it.
Here’s what we see constantly with CPA firms on the Eastern Shore:
❌ WISP non-compliance — Most firms either don’t have a Written Information Security Plan or have one that was copy-pasted from the internet three years ago. It’s outdated, inaccurate, and wouldn’t survive an IRS inquiry.
❌ Tax season crises — A server crashes or Internet goes down in March. Your team can’t access client files. Every hour costs billable time and client trust.
❌ Data in the wrong places — Client tax returns emailed in unencrypted PDFs. Sensitive files stored in personal Dropbox accounts. Passwords shared in group texts.
❌ IT providers who don’t understand your software — Most IT companies have never heard of UltraTax, Accounting CS, or CCH Axcess. When something breaks, they guess. You pay for the guessing.
We’ve worked with accounting firms on the Eastern Shore for over 20 years. We know:
📋 The software you depend on — UltraTax, QuickBooks, Accounting CS, CCH, Drake, ProSeries
📅 The deadlines that can’t slip — April 15, October 15, quarterly estimates
⚖️ The compliance requirements you face — IRS WISP, FTC Safeguards Rule
🔒 The security risks specific to financial data
When we set up your IT, we’re not starting from scratch. We know exactly what a CPA firm needs.
Specialized IT services built around accounting practice needs.
Build, review, and maintain your IRS-required Written Information Security Plan. We help you stay audit-ready year-round and train your staff on the policies inside it. Most firms we assess have 3–5 significant gaps.
Pre-season IT health check (November/December), verified backups with tested restoration, remote access secured for home workers, critical software updated and licensed, and priority helpdesk during busy season.
Encrypted file sharing, secure client portal, role-based access control, email security with phishing protection, and secure destruction of old client records. Handle sensitive data like the professionals you are.
Endpoint protection, multi-factor authentication on all accounts, dark web monitoring for your firm's credentials, security awareness training, and cyber insurance coordination.
Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace administration, tax software licensing and updates, cloud storage and backup, remote work infrastructure, and staff onboarding/offboarding.
This isn’t a vague “consultation.” Here’s exactly what you receive:
1. Written review of your current WISP against IRS requirements
2. Gap list — specific areas where your plan doesn’t meet current standards
3. Priority action list — what to fix first and why
4. 30-minute walkthrough call — we explain what we found, in plain English
Total value: $500. Cost to you: $0.
We offer this because most firms we assess become clients. And because an unprotected CPA firm is bad for your clients, bad for you, and bad for the community we all live in.

When we first worked with this Eastern Shore CPA firm, they were running three office locations on a patchwork of disconnected software solutions. They were paying for redundant systems, wasting staff hours on manual workarounds, and couldn’t share files cleanly between locations.
We migrated them to a unified cloud platform, consolidated their software stack, and set up seamless cross-location access.
The result: $100,000 in annual cost savings. And a team that could finally focus on their clients instead of their computers.
A no-pressure call and review of your current IT setup, WISP status, software stack, and security posture. You'll walk away knowing exactly where you stand.
We build a tailored plan covering WISP compliance, security controls, backup strategy, and tax season readiness — specific to your firm's size, software, and risk profile.
Ongoing monthly support. 24/7 monitoring. Annual WISP review. And a local team that answers the phone — always.
Do I need a WISP if I’m a one-person practice?
Yes. The IRS requirement under Rev. Proc. 2021-9 applies to all tax preparers, regardless of firm size. The plan should be proportionate to your size — but it must exist and be current.
What software do you support for CPA firms?
UltraTax CS, Accounting CS, Thomson Reuters Practice CS, QuickBooks (Desktop and Online), CCH Axcess, Drake Tax, ProSeries, Lacerte, and most other common practice management tools.
We already have an IT person — can you work alongside them?
Yes. We’ve worked in co-managed arrangements where we supplement an in-house IT person with monitoring tools, security services, or specialized compliance support.
How much does IT support for a CPA firm cost?
A typical 5–20 person CPA firm on our managed plan pays $95–$140/user/month, which includes help desk, monitoring, security, and WISP support. We give you an exact proposal after the free assessment.
What happens during busy season if something breaks?
We have enhanced response commitments for clients during tax season. Critical issues (system down, access failures) get priority response — not just “we’ll get to it.”
We’re not a national franchise. We’re not a call center in another time zone. We’re based in Salisbury, MD, and most of our clients are within driving distance.
When something serious happens — and in 20 years, we’ve seen everything — we can be on-site the same day.
